Ramiro Bermudez Jr. (b. 1991, is a painter based in Long Beach, California. His work explores community identity through oil painting and hand painted signage. He studied Sign Graphics at Los Angeles Trade Technical College and has worked professionally as a muralist, contributing to public projects throughout the region.
Artist Statement
Bermudez work explores the connection between comfort and disorder. Inspired by the paradox of nature he reflects on the beauty in things that can’t be tamed in his community.
Drawing inspiration from oil painting and signage, He builds an archive through his visual identity painting products, labor, lives and sceneries that might otherwise go unnoticed and tells stories that exist in plain sight.
